Sarah Hurtigkarl
Sarah Hurtigkarl is a Stockholm-based artist and maker whose practice moves between tableware and sculpture. Working primarily in metal, she explores the relationship between the natural and the artificial, creating objects that combine refined materiality with a tactile, handmade quality. Hurtigkarl is fascinated by the mysterious presence of objects and by the possibility that they might possess a life of their own. Her works seek to give form to this sensation, creating objects that appear to be in a state of transformation—growing and evolving beyond their physical boundaries. Drawing on the processes of nature, she translates organic principles into objects that appear at once familiar and otherworldly. Her objects exist in a space between the everyday and the imagined, where the work seem to take on a life of their own. They invite curiosity and a sense of connection, encouraging the viewer to look closely and engage with their presence.
